Let us see how to make Chawal –
Wash the Basmati rice and soak it for 1 hour in advance. Keep the water boiling in a vessel. When it boils, add salt and rice. Keep the water till just above the rice.
When the water comes below the rice or remains at 25%, cover the lid and reduce the gas. If the gas is not very light, then place a bowl of rice on the pan and let it simmer for 7 to 8 minutes. Turn off the gas for some time. After that, remove the lid and serve the rice.
