Kali Urad Dal Khichdi is a special dish of the winter season. It is made very simply and the dish is ready in no time. This Khichdi is eaten with desi ghee. Many people like to eat it with red garlic chutney, while some like to eat it with pickle, papad, curd and salad.
Let’s see the recipe of Kali Urad Dal Khichdi
Take equal quantity of black urad dal and raw khichdi rice. First wash the dal and put it in cooker along with salt and water and let it whistle once. Keep water 3 to 4 inches above the dal.
After the gas of the cooker is released, wash the rice and put it in it. Add water and salt as per requirement (keep the water 3 to 4 inches above the rice). Close the lid of the cooker and after one whistle, reduce the flame of the gas and let it whistle for 3 to 4 more whistles.
When the cooker is off the gas, open it and check. If the khichdi seems dry, add some water and stir over low flame. Take it out in a plate and serve with Desi Ghee .
