Let us see how Lauki Chana Dal is made –
Wash the gram dal and soak it for half an hour. Peel the bottle gourd and cut it into small pieces. Put oil in the cooker, cut an onion and let it turn light pink. Now add chopped tomato, salt, turmeric, coriander powder to the onion. Ginger, garlic paste, cumin, red chili powder, ground garam masala and fry all these spices until the tomatoes melt.
Once the masala is roasted, put bottle gourd and gram dal in the cooker, mix well, add a cup of water to the cooker for 2 to 3 whistles and turn off the gas. When the gas comes out of the cooker, remove the lid and dry the water on full flame along with the dal. please check also
