Wash the lentils and soak them for 10 to 15 minutes before, put the lentils, water and cut a normal size onion in the cooker and turn off the gas after 2 to 3 whistles. When the gas comes out of the cooker, open it and check whether the pulses are cooked or not. If there is a lump, then close the cooker and wait for one to two whistles. Before closing the cooker, check the water in the pulses. |
Heat oil in a bowl and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves.
When the mustard seeds crackle, add a little water to the tomato, coriander, ginger garlic paste, salt, red chili powder and add it to the oil and keep stirring till the tomatoes are cooked on a low flame, when the spices are well roasted, then add the boiled lentils. |
