Cut the paneer into pieces as per your wish.
Make an incision in the middle of the paneer and fill it with spices, grind salt, black pepper and cumin seeds finely in the mixer grinder.
Take gram flour in a bowl, add salt, red chili powder, if you want, add cumin powder and asafoetida (cumin powder and asafoetida are optional) and mix them with some water, taking care that the solution should not be too thin.
Heat oil in a pan, wrap paneer pieces in gram flour, pick up the paneer one by one and put it in the hot oil, when it becomes light golden brown, take out the paneer from the oil.
