Tuvar ki Sabzi

Tuvar ki Sabzi is a vegetable of the winter season. It takes some time to peel but is easy to make. This vegetable can be made with any vegetable. In Gujarat, it is made in every house during the winter season. This vegetable is Jowar Roti. Chapati, rice or khichdi can be made with anything, we will make this vegetable with brinjal and potatoes.

Tuvar ki Sabzi

Let’s see the recipe for making Tuvar ki Sabzi –

 

 

 

Peel the toor, separate its grains and wash them, also peel and cut the potatoes and cut the brinjal and put it in water, without water the brinjal turns black.

 

 

 

When the oil is hot in the cooker , fry the onion. When the onion becomes light brown, add chopped tomato, ginger garlic paste, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric and coriander powder and also add some water so that the spices do not burn. And fry it well on low flame.

 

 

 

Once the spices are roasted, add the toor grains, brinjal and potatoes, add half a glass of water, stir well, cover the cooker with a lid and cook for 2 to 3 whistles, set one whistle on full flame and let it simmer for 2 whistles. When gas comes out, drain the vegetable water on full flame.

Add green coriander and serve.

Turvar ki Sabzi Ingredients –

  • Tovar vegetable 500 grams (without chilli)
  • Brinjal 200 grams
  • potatoes 2
  • Tomato 2
  • onion 1
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  • coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • Oil
