Wash the black gram and soak it overnight. Add gram, salt and water to the cooker and close the lid. When one whistle, lower the flame and let it cook for 10 to 15 minutes. When the gas comes out, open the lid of the cooker. Do check it. Boil the potatoes, when it cools down, peel it and cut it into small pieces.

In a bowl, add Kashmiri red chilli, cumin powder, coriander powder, dried mango powder and black salt and make a paste by adding water to all these spices.

 

 

 

Take mustard oil in a pan or pan , heat it well and let it cool down a bit. By doing this, the smell of mustard oil goes away. Heat the oil again at normal temperature, add cumin and asafoetida and add spice paste. Medium flame. But cook the spices for 4 to 5 minutes. After the oil separates, add gram and cook on full flame.

Stir till the gram becomes dry. Now turn off the gas and take out the gram in a bowl. Now add finely chopped onion, boiled potatoes, chopped tomatoes, finely chopped green chillies, green coriander, cucumber (optional), chaat fruit masala, salt and lemon. Add all these things to the juice and mix well.

 

 

 

Spicy Chaat is ready.

  • black gram 1 cup

  • Tomato 2
  • Green chilli 2 to 3
  • cucumber 1
  • lemon 1
  • Chaat fruit masala 1/2 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  • Dry mango powder 1 tsp
  • Black salt 1/2 tsp
  • Chaat Fruit Masala
  • Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
  • cumin 1 tsp
  • mustard oil
  • green coriander
