Chilli Paneer is a dish liked by people of all ages. Everyone wants to eat this Indo-Chinese dish again and again. You can include it as a party starter. In this the paneer is fried separately and then added to the gravy.

Make a paste by adding water to corn flour, salt and Kashmiri red chilli powder. Cut paneer into one-inch pieces and coat them with the paste.

 

 

 

When the oil is hot in the kadhai or pan, add the Paneer pieces one by one. When it turns light brown, take them out of the oil.

 

 

 

Leave required amount of oil in the pan in which you fried the paneer and take out the rest. Add chopped ginger and garlic in hot oil and fry for 2 minutes (cut capsicum into half inch small pieces, grind onion into half inch squares and chop green chillies finely).

 

 

 

Add capsicum, onion and green chillies in the fried ginger garlic and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Put vinegar, soya sauce, tomato sauce , salt and chilli sauce ( red or green whichever you have) in a small bowl and stir for 1 minute. Add half a cup of water. Mix corn flour in one tablespoon of water and mix that as well.

 

 

 

Add the fried paneer, if needed add a spoon of water and mix well on low flame.

Chilli Paneer

Ingredients –

Paneer coating-

  • Paneer 200 gms
  • Corn flour 3 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder 1/2 tsp

For the gravy-

  • 1 inch piece of finely chopped ginger
  • 7 to 8 cloves finely chopped garlic
  • Finely chopped green chillies 2 to 3
  • Green or red chili sauce 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce 1 teaspoon
  • Tomato sauce 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Vinegar 1/2 tsp
  • Cornflour 2 tsp
  • Oil
