Black Chane’s Chat –
To make Kale Chane ki Chat, soak the black chickpeas overnight. In the morning, add water and salt to the chickpeas and put the whistle on in the cooker till they melt. In a small bowl, add water to black salt, cumin powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and chaat masala and mix.
Put cumin seeds and asafoetida in one tablespoon oil in a pan or kadhai and add the mixed spices and fry on a low flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
Now put gram in the spices and add one to two tablespoons of water as well. Drain the water of gram on low flame. After it cools down, finely chop salt, onion, green chilli (thick one), tomato.
Boil the potatoes and grind them into small pieces. Chop the cucumber finely. Mix all these things in the chana and add finely chopped coriander and lemon before serving.
