Kali Masoor Dal
When you don’t know what to cook then Kali Masoor Dal is made, any dal can be cooked easily and dal rice is a famous dish of India which can be cooked very quickly.

Soak the lentils for half an hour, wash and chop the tomatoes, add ginger-garlic paste, salt, turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder and cumin seeds , put all these spices and the lentils in the cooker .
Pour water upto the lentils and let it whistle twice . After the gas is out, open the cooker and check it.
If there is less water then add it and cook on full flame for 2 to 3 minutes. For tempering, chop onions, whole red chillies, cumin seeds and finely chopped garlic.
When the ghee or oil is heated in the frying pan, first add onions, then add whole red chillies, chopped garlic and cumin seeds and fry them till they are light brown.
Now pour the seasoning into the dal , black lentil is ready.
Kali Masoor Dal
Ingredient –
- Lentils 200 gms
- Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder 2 tsp
- Tomatoes 2
- Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
For the tempering-
- Onion 1/2
- Whole red chillies 4
- Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
- Chopped garlic 2 tsp
- ghee or oil
